Tesla Motors Inc To Infiltrate India; Here’s How

Tesla Motors Inc. (NASDAQ:TSLA) currently operates in selective Asia Pacific countries, such as Australia, China, Hong Kong, and Japan, implying massive opportunities in the region for the company’s innovative electric vehicles (EVs). Since the visit of the Indian Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, to Tesla Factory in Fremont, California, there has been speculations that the company might enter the world’s second-most populous country.

Although, there has been no report or any statement regarding its intentions to offer its existing flagship vehicles, Model S and Model X, to the Indian consumers. A Mumbai-based financial portal, Money Control, suggest that the EV giant is planning to infiltrate the Indian market.

The report suggests that the disruptive automobile company intends to build the plant for production of its more affordable, compact EV, the Model 3, which is expected to hit the US market by the end of 2017.
